What are Probiotics
The term PROBIOTICS comes from the Latin “PRO”, meaning 'supporting', and the Greek word “BIOTIC”, meaning ‘life’. It refers to a substance that is “not digested but PROMOTES the growth of beneficial intestinal microorganisms.
'Probiotics' promote and supply the body with organisms conducive to a healthy life.Recent research on the body's metabolism has focused on the link between intestinal health and the overall immune response of the body.
The central nervous system, which includes the brain that controls all functions of the body, appears to be directly affected by the strength and composition of the beneficial probiotic population. Some Researchers have even called the Large Intestine the “Second Brain", and are looking at ways of improving the intestinal composition.
GOOD FLORA
This blend of carefully selected probiotic strains are formulated to make a healthy intestinal environment that is uninhabitable for damaging intestinal dwellers like the candida albicans yeast.
VAGINAL HEALTH
Probiotics and prebiotics have shown capacities for optimizing, maintaining, and restoring the vaginal microflora, they can help to improve vaginal odor by promoting a healthy balance of bacteria in the vagina. Improve overall vaginal health: Probiotics can help to improve overall vaginal health by promoting healthy blood flow to the vaginal tissues, improving lubrication, and reducing dryness.
AUTISM
According to a 2022 study, there’s a bidirectional link between the gut and the brain. Recent findings demonstrate that gut microbiota may influence numerous neurological disorders, including autism. Probiotics are one proposed therapy to help improve the balance of bacteria in the microbiome.
Gastrointestinal (GI) problems are one of the most prevalent symptoms in autistic people. Estimates suggest that about 70–80% of autistic people experience GI conditions, such as: abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting.
In a 2020 study, 255 young autistic children (ages 2 to 3.5) were compared to 129 neurotypically developing children of the same age. Overall the autistic children were 2.7 times more likely to have GI symptoms compared to their typically developing peers
Another small observational study reports indicates a possible association between the number or severity of GI problems in autistic children and certain behavioral symptoms. This could include: self-injury, aggressive behavior, stereotyped behavior, sleep problems
Giving probiotics to autistic children may help improve GI problems. Research suggests that rebalancing the composition of the gut microbiota might help improve symptoms like anxiety and social or behavioral issues.
