Nail polishes
* THPH has been banned in the EU since 2004,but still can found in nail polishes in the USA.
* DnBP, toluene and formaldehyde have been linked to conditions such as infertility, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and even certain cancers, like breast.
* Exposure to these chemicals while pregnant puts you at a higher risk of miscarrying and the baby at risk for physical and mental birth defects. The defects may include preterm birth, increased chances of miscarriage, learning problems and cognitive impairment, behavioural issues and even damage to the kidney, brain and the nervous system.

Hair relaxers
Nearly 80 percent of hair products aimed at black women contain chemicals linked to cancer, infertility and obesity. The use of hair relaxers has also been linked to increased risk of endometriosis (uterine tissue abnormally grows outside the uterus) and often causes female infertility.

Avoiding use of such chemicals is advisable, even after conception, continued excess usage can cause miscarriage and birth defects.
