Mastic Gum - 100 Capsules 350mg Each
Scientific Name: Mastiha
Origin: USA
Product Overview
Mastic Gum, also known as Mastiha, is a natural aromatic resin traditionally harvested from the Pistacia lentiscus tree. It has been historically used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultural practices for crafting herbal blends, spice preparations, resin-based pastes, and traditional aromatic applications. It is naturally resinous and may form lumps or cake due to its sticky plant-based composition.
Product Characteristics
• Fine resin powder with natural aromatic, woody-fruity scent
• May naturally clump or lump due to resinous properties (not a defect)
• Pale white to light yellow color
• Traditionally used in powdered resin preparations, handcrafted blends, and resin-based botanical pastes
• Can be mixed with spice blends, combined with natural sweeteners, or used in traditional resin-based applications
Lifestyle Use
Mastic Gum powder is commonly used for personal botanical crafting, home apothecary-style blending, and heritage spice applications. It may be naturally resinous, and freezing before grinding can make it easier to handle. Ideal for those who enjoy traditional Mediterranean botanical ingredients in their personal herbal routines.

How to crush or grind mastic gum?
Put the mastic gum crystals in the freezer for a few hours. Then crushing and grinding will be easier. Mastic gum is a resin and, like all resins, is sticky at higher temperatures. Freezing the mastic gum in advance will make your work easier!
Crushing with a dough roller
- Place the mastic gum crystals on a flat surface.
- Cover the mastic crystals with a large piece of plastic.
- Roll the roller over the plastic until all the tears of the mastic have been crushed.
Crushing with a Coffee Grinder
An electric coffee grinder can also be used to grind the mastic gum.
- Put the frozen crystals in a grinder.
- The crystals are crushed quickly, usually 5-10 seconds.
- Warning! Do not grind the crystals longer than necessary, the mastic gum would heat up and stick to the blade of the grinder and the grinder itself.
