Barley Grass was one of the first cultivated crops stemming from western Asia and northeast Africa. The tender, young barley grass leaves are harvested before the plant has produced a stem or grain. The leaves are often dried and milled into barley grass powder and used for their nutritious value. The powder can be added to smoothies, juices, yogurts, and rice dishes.
